WHAT'S THE JOB?
The position encompasses every element of day to day web production, programming, production management and client liaison. The essential skills required will include, but are not limited to:
- Building standards-compliant HTML from design templates provided.
- Designing, building and maintaining server-side applications including databases.
- Liaising on a daily basis with clients.
- Maintaining the technical systems and infrastructure of the company
- Writing technical project specifications that demonstrate an understanding of information architecture design and best practice web-related issues.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The ideal person will be outgoing and articulate. You must have the ability to communicate confidently with clients in industries from the Financial Sector to Entertainment. You must be confident in meetings and over the phone, and then be able to liaise on day to day tasks.
You will be a first class organiser and possess a structured and disciplined approach to the delivery of projects.
You can work day to day with designers to produce functional working websites.
You will have had a minimum of two years professional agency experience.
Core feature set
- Expert knowledge of Cross browser client side technologies - XHTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, DOM
- Knowledge and experience of W3C and Accessibility coding standards
- 1+ programming language - preferably .NET
- Knowledge of relational databases - e.g. MySQL and SQLserver
- Server admin/configuration - IIS and Apache
- Confidently write, test and debug critical code
Useful Plugins
- Computer or design related degree.
- Understanding of OO design and development
- Knowledge of Flash/Flex and OO Actionscript
- Hands on graphics knowledge i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, FireWorks
- Able to confidently and professionally write specifications
- Other Production skills, i.e subversion
OTHER
- Being able to multi-task, prioritise and work to deadline under pressure
- Ability to fit in and work as part of a small team
- Keenness to learn and try new technological disciplines
- Ability to switch seamlessly between programming languages
- Knowledge/interest of branding and design
